Furtwangler Conducts Beethoven

 

 

Wilhelm Furtwangler was the leading conductor of his generation and Adolf Hitler’s favourite. The Nazi Party used Beethoven’s music extensively and Furtwangler would conduct the Ninth for Hitler’s birthday and other special occasions.
